Your ticket will be scanned and you’ll be given an Entry Wristband (RFID).
This is your payment system for the event, and will be loaded with any currency you’ve pre-purchased with your ticket, or that you top up at the event.
Please be prepared to show your valid ID. Beers at the Basin is a restricted event. We are able to accept a New Zealand Driver’s License, a New Zealand or Foreign Passport, or a HANZ 18+ card as identification.
Event gates are open from 11am – 7pm, and If you want to be organised and hit the ground running you can purchase event currency at the event, 30 mins before gates open.
Please note all bags are subject to inspection at any point during the event. Bottles, cans, glass, food, drink, alcohol, illicit drugs, illegal substances, fireworks, explosives or anything that can be used as a weapon cannot be brought into the event.
Also please leave your animals, furniture and children at home.
In order to protect the Basin Reserve, No high heels or stiletto heels are allowed into the event.
As you enter, you’ll be given a Event Cup and your Event Guide. And then you’re good to go!
Beers at the Basin is a 100% cashless event. With no cash to handle, this helps our bars and food vendors process transactions quickly, which means more time for you to enjoy the event.
As mentioned above, your Entry Wristband (RFID) will be loaded with any event currency you’ve pre-purchased.
This year, you can pre-purchase $30 event currency with your ticket, and this will save you the onsite $2 activation fee.
We strongly recommend purchasing currency before the event so you can start the fun from the first minute.
You will be able to purchase event currency at the event, from 30 mins before gates open. Currency can be purchased with Cash (the fastest option), Eftpos or Credit Card.
Wristbands can be loaded with as many dollars as you prefer (one-off activation fee of $2 will be charged).
Alternatively, you can pre-purchase tickets that include $30 event currency. Pre-purchased currency does not incur an activation fee.
Topping Up Currency
If you need to top up at the event, just head to one of our Top Up Stands / Banks or roaming Top Up Staff.
Once a Wristband has been activated, there is no further top-up charge.
If you don’t use all of your event currency at the event, never fear!
Event currency refunds will be available at no charge at any of the event banks and then online only from Monday 3rd December to Sunday 16th December (midnight). Refunds will then be processed weekly, please note AWOP charges a Bank Fee for all online refunds. Just make sure you hang on to your Event Wristband as you’ll need the number printed on it to claim your refund.
